I'm working on two illustrations where I use my character designs from the book "Ronja the Robber's Daughter".
This is from a part of the book where Birk saves Ronja, after her leg falls through a hole, that turns out to be the roof of the "butt goblins'" home.
I tried not to draw too much from the live action film, but to make my own interpretation of the story.
I wanted to do some character designs based on the Swedish writer, Astrid Lindgren story "Ronja the Robber's Daughter". That book is amongst my favourites, so if you haven't read it do it! it's not even that long and it's written for children so it's very easy to get through.
I designed the main character Ronja and her best friend Birk, who is the boy from the other clan that Ronja's father and his clan is at "war" with.
I also thought about designing Ronja's parents, so I might do that later. I realised today that I need more boys/ men to show in my coming portfolio.
I don't usually draw fanart, but I have refound my fascination with the "Avatar" series after watching season 3 of "Legend of Korra".
Both "The Last Airbender" and "Legend of Korra" might be amongst my favourite animated series. It is a clever, fun and entertaining series with some great character developments and an interesting universe. I think that "Legend Of Korra" is a little too busy sometimes and often skip important background stuff very easily, but on the other hand I really appreciate the level of animation and general craftmanship put into this series. "The last Airbender" has great characters and a great story and I always enjoy watching it.
Well enough writing, great series that's all I wanted to say :)
